Enochian Vision Magick:
An Introduction and Practical Guide to the Magick of Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelley
By Lon Milo DuQuette

Dr. John Dee (1527-1608) was one of the greatest minds of the Elizabethan Age, and his system of angelic communication was the result of the most dramatic magical operation ever recorded. It has survived to become the cornerstone of the modern ceremonial magician's practice. In 1582 Dee and his clairvoyant partner Edward Kelley made magical contact with a number of spiritual entities who identified themselves as angels — the same that communicated with Adam, Enoch, and the patriarchs of the Old Testament. Over the next three years they revealed to Dee and Kelley three distinct magical systems of vision magick. The third and last of these incorporated a series of "calls" to be recited in an angelic language in order to raise the consciousness of the magician to a level where angelic contact is possible. Best-selling author and magician, Lon Milo DuQuette, who has practiced Dee's system for over twenty-five years, has seized upon elements of the original Dee material overlooked by adepts of the Golden Dawn, Aleister Crowley, and other modern magicians, and brought them to light in Enochian Vision Magick. DuQuette offers the expert and novice alike the practical means by which they can become attuned in the same simple step-by-step manner that first prepared Dee and Kelley. There has never been a book on Enochian magick like this one.

Secret Agent 666:
Aleister Crowley, British Intelligence and the Occult
By Richard B. Spence (Feral House)

Aleister Crowley is best known today as a founding father of modern occultism. His wide, hypnotic eyes peer at us from the cover of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and his influence can be found everywhere in popular culture. Crowley, also known as the Great Beast, has been the subject of several biographies, some painting him as a misunderstood genius, others as a manipulative charlatan. None of them have looked seriously at his career as an agent of British Intelligence. Using documents gleaned from British, American, French, and Italian archives, Secret Agent 666 sensationally reveals that Crowley played a major role in the sinking of the Lusitania, a plot to overthrow the government of Spain, the thwarting of Irish and Indian nationalist conspiracies, and the 1941 flight of Rudolf Hess. Author Richard B. Spence argues that Crowley-in his own unconventional way-was a patriotic Englishman who endured years of public vilification in part to mask his role as a secret agent. The verification of the Great Beast's participation in the twentieth century's most astounding government plots will likely blow the minds of history buff s and occult aficionados alike.

Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic
By Thomas Karlsson

Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic is a unique practical introduction to magic. The main thread of the book is the exploration of the Qliphoth and the dark mysteries which have for so long been a repressed part of western esotericism. Instead of ignoring and denying the dark side, the author reveals, step by step, how man can get to know his Shadow and, through this, reach a deeper knowledge of the Self. By exploring and not by repressing the Shadow it can be transformed from a destructive force into a creative power. The book deals with the problem of evil, the symbolism behind the fall of Lucifer and man s creation process according to Qabalistic philosophy. The theories that are presented in this book are also linked to practice. Several examples of rituals, meditations, magical exercises and occult correspondences can be found within. Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic contains more than one hundred demonic sigils and pieces of art that were created specifically for this book. A unique collection of all the sigils from the classic grimoires Lemegeton: The Lesser Key of Solomon and the infamous Grimorium Verum are also included.

Supernatural Assault in Ancient Egypt
Seth, Renpet & Moon Magick
By Mogg Morgan

You're in your bed. It's dark, you hear footsteps coming up the stairs and into your room. There's someone there - a presence. They lie on you or beside you, perhaps even gripping you tightly, crushing you into the bed. You can't move. There may be a sound, a grunt or a strange smell. Time passes, you are paralysed with fear. Eventually the entity changes, perhaps expanding or contracting, moving away from you, sinking to the floor. With a great effort of will you manage to move the tip of your finger, then the hand until movement returns to your whole body and the experience ends. You have been visited by the old 'hag'. Dreams, the real theatre or perhaps battlefield of magick, influenced by cosmic tides that ebb and flow through us as they did the ancient Egyptians. Over the millennia we have lost contact with these tides, and stand alienated from Nature. To restore that first 'Eden' we must undertake an exercise in the archaeology of knowledge. We must reconstruct the ancient Egyptian Wheel of the Year, revealing archaic, predynastic Mysteries, the Lunar Mysteries of Horus & Seth.

The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses:
Or Moses' Magical Spirit-art
By Joseph Peterson

The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, arguably one of the most popular magick books ever published, contains two secret apocrypha ascribed to Moses, perhaps pseudepigraphically. The book consists of a collection of texts which claim to explain the magick Moses used to win the biblical magick contest with the Egyptian priest-magicians, part the Red Sea, and perform other miraculous feats. It includes instruction in the form of invocations, magick words, and seals for calling upon the angels to affect worldly ends, from the sublime (calling down a plague of locusts and frogs upon your enemy) to the mundane (getting more money). Many manuscripts and printed pamphlet versions circulated in Germany in the 1800s, and an English translation by Johann Scheible first appeared in New York in 1880 that had not been corrected or re-edited until now. In creating this restored, corrected edition, Joseph Peterson drew on Scheible's final edition of the text and his original sources. It will be of great interest to those who have suffered through prior editions and anyone looking for a traditional source of Western magick. * Used in various modern traditions of American folk magick, from Pennsylvania Dutch hexmeisters and contemporary eclectic magicians, to voodoo practioners and African American root workers. * Extensively illustrated with over 100 magical seals, signs, and sigils.

William Blake's Sexual Path to Spiritual Vision
By Marsha Keith Schuchard

William Blake (1757-1827) has long been treasured as an artist and poet whose work was born out of authentic spiritual vision. The acutely personal, almost otherworldly look of his artwork, combined with its archetypal casting and depth of emotion, transcend societal conventions and ordinary experience. But much of the overtly sexual work has been destroyed or altered, deemed too heretical by conservative elements among the mystic Moravians and Swedenborgians, whose influence on Blake has been uncovered only recently. The author's investigation into the radical psychosexual spiritual practices surrounding William Blake, which includes new archival discoveries of Blake family documents, reveals that Moravian and Swedenborgian erotic and visionary experimentation fueled much of Blake's creative and spiritual life. Drawing also upon modern art restoration techniques, Marsha Keith Schuchard shows that Blake and his wife, Catherine, were influenced by secret kabbalistic and tantric rituals designed to transcend the bonds of social convention. Her exhaustive research provides a new context for understanding the mystical practices at the heart of Blake's most radical beliefs about sexualized spirituality and its relation to visionary art.

The Secret History of Western Sexual Mysticism: Sacred Practices and Spiritual Marriage
By Arthur Versluis

Beginning with the ancient Greek Mystery traditions, Gnosticism, and the practices in early Christianity, Arthur Versluis uncovers the secret line of Western sexual mysticism that, like the Tantra of the East, seeks transcendence or union with God through sexually charged practices. Throughout antiquity, and right into the present day, sexuality has played an important, if largely hidden, role in religious traditions and practices. This includes not only Christian but also kabbalistic, hermetic, and alchemical currents of sexual mysticism, many discussed together here for the first time. In the Mystery tradition of hieros gamos (sacred marriage) and the Gnostic tradition of spiritual marriage, we see the possibility of divine union in which sexual union is the principal sign or symbol. Key to these practices is the inner or archetypal union of above and below, the intermingling of the revelatory divine world with the mundane earthly one. Versluis shows that these secret currents of sexual mysticism helped fuel the rise of the troubadours and their erotic doctrine, the esoteric tradition of Jacob Böhme in the early 17th century, the 19th-century utopian communities of John Humphrey Noyes and Thomas Lake Harris, the free love movement of the 20th century, and the modern writings of Denis de Rougemont and Alan Watts.

Magic and the Power of the Goddess:
Initiation, Worship, and Ritual in the Western Mystery Tradition
By Gareth Knight

In this wide-ranging view of magic and ritual, Gareth Knight demonstrates the presence of the Goddess throughout Western esoteric traditions. From Greek myths and the Mysteries of Isis to the emergence of the cult of the Blessed Virgin and seventeenth-century Rosicrucian spiritual alchemy, he shows how the Goddess--the elemental consciousness of Earth--has revealed herself in different times and places. Honoring her many guises, Knight explores the powers of the Goddess as maiden, mother, initiator, protector, sorceress, and faery queen. Guided meditations on each of these qualities lead the practitioner into direct contact with the potent healing energy of the Divine Feminine. The author also offers rituals, exercises, and other practical tools for integrating the Western magical tradition with worship of the Goddess. He shows how we, and our planet, have suffered due to the repression of the feminine principle. For our own health, and that of our environment as well, we must recognize the power of the Goddess within to reconstitute and guide our existence.

Secret Societies and the Hermetic Code: The Rosicrucian, Masonic, and Esoteric Transmission in the Arts
By Ernesto Frers

Ernesto Frers presents a virtual museum of artistic works that contain occult secrets. The scope of his research ranges from the paintings of Byzantine icons to Salvador Dali, from mystery sites such as the Pyramids to the architecture of Andrea Palladio;s Villa Cornaro. He also discusses the hermetic influence on music evidenced in the works of Mozart through to the modern era of rock and roll. Frers explains that all cultures encode in their architecture, art, and music the instructions and diagram of their esoteric ritual and faith. He shows how during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the Church's severe censure of anything antithetical to its dogma forced artists to conceal mystical references within the religious images or scenes they depicted. By examining works that have not received such scrutiny before, including those of Titian, di Cosimo, Botticelli, and Rembrandt, Frers brings to light the symbols and cryptic messages hidden in these masterworks. He presents his evidence using more than 100 color and black-and-white images to reveal the mysteries contained in these works of art. He also extends his investigation to the occult leanings of modern-day musicians such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Led Zepplin.

The Lilith Monographs: Vol 1:
Immaculata
By Joshua Seraphim

A cult of devotees worships Her masks in dozens of cultures; they may or may not even know the allegiance they profess. Many who have been seduced by the legends and secret sacrifices of this goddess feel compelled to ask: "Is Lilith real?" Lilith is as real to Her devotees as Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, or Buddha to their acolytes. Is She a quasihistorical figure concocted by the wild scriptures of prophets and Magi, an earth-goddess of fertility and terror celebrated by the Pharaohs with blood? Can one prove Lilith walked the earth or is real? No. Just as scriptures and hieroglyphs uncover legends of religious characters, thus do we have apocrypha scattered across cultures from bygone testaments of Ur, Akkad, and Babylon, kept hidden within the papyri of Ægypt's Magi, to the sacred cremation grounds of India, finally deep within rogue monasteries in the Tibetan Himalayas. Lilith's words remain hidden, yet The Lilith Monographs series presents to you Her near-whispers beckoning you to edge of lust, love, and sanity.

The Gnostic Faustus:
The Secret Teachings Behind the Classic Text
By Ramona Fradon

In The Gnostic Faustus, Ramona Fradon shows the legend of Doctor Faustus to be a composite Gnostic creation myth that reveals the process of spiritual salvation. Nearly every element of the original 16th-century text is a metaphor containing profound spiritual messages based on passages of Coptic and Syrian Gnostic manuscripts, including the Pistis Sophia and The Hymn of the Pearl. Fradon identifies many Hermetic, alchemical, and Tantric symbols in the Faust Book that accompany the story of Sophia, the goddess of wisdom, whose troubled journey to salvation is a model for human spiritual development. Extensive line-by-line text comparisons with these Gnostic manuscripts show that Faustus's corruption by the Devil and his despair parallel Sophia's transgression and fall, and that his tragic death is a simple reversal of her joyful rebirth, so written in order to make an otherwise heretical story palatable to Church authorities at that time. Fradon demonstrates that the Faust legend is a vehicle for transmitting antiquity's secret wisdom. It provides an account of spiritual initiation whose goal is ecstatic revelation and union with the divine. The elements of alchemy, sacramental sex, and worship of the divine feminine that are encoded in the Faust Book reveal the same hidden goddess-worshipping tradition whose practices are hinted at by the writings of Renaissance magi such as Cornelius Agrippa and Giordano Bruno.

People have long sought the aid of non-physical beings; the biblical king Solomon in particular had a reputation since ancient times for commanding demons. There are many texts purporting to reveal Solomon's methods, but most are extremely complicated and difficult. Grimorium Verum is one of the easier texts, but also one of the most sinister. It includes a catalog of specific demons and how to draw on their powers. This new critical edition includes a fresh translation based on all the major sources, complete French and Italian texts, and 5 other appendices.

Double Edged:

"Double Edged" combines both of Randall Pike's seminal texts "Liber Satanica" and "10,000 Shrines" together, along with new commentary and insight. This is the ultimate first look at Randall Pike's early work and thought.

" Liber Satanica" is the first book. Its personal, and in depth, look into the mind of a Satanic magician is sure to please at least some of the purists out there. Included are some essays, poetry, and a stunning revisiting of a magickal working performed by Pike in 1998.

"10,000 Shrines" is the second book, and is a deeper continuation of the first. It delves deep into personal ritual constructs, and adds unique insight via commentaries designed to both personalize and de-personalize the working mind of the Magician. Also included are some mystical verses, essays, rants and raves. Not to be missed!

Liber Lilith: A Gnostic Grimoire
By Donald Tyson

The grimoire reveals in seductive detail a system of sex magic taught to mankind by Lilith, by which she may be summoned as a lover and teacher. The working journal of the ill-fated German magician who rediscovered this lost necromantic text, and put into practice its obscene rituals, provides terrible evidence that some books are too dangerous to be permitted to exist. Liber Lilith is a powerful and disturbing novel which charts the disintegration of a German occultist, Karl Steiger, who comes across an ancient grimoire which sets out rites by means of which the great demoness Lilith may be called forth. The novel opens with an introduction by the editor of the journal kept by Steiger, and then follows with a reproduction of the grimoire itself. Next comes the working journal of Steiger, and we follow the progress of the ill-fated occultist as he discovers the grimoire, steeps himself in its shadows, and is beguiled by the glamours of Lilith. He is compelled to enact the rites as set out in the grimoire, and he gradually succumbs to madness as Lilith answers his call and he is enmeshed ever deeper in her dark and sinister web.

Goetia of Dr. Rudd: Angels and Demons of Liber Malorum Spirituum Seu Goetia Lemegeton Clavicula Salomanis
By Stephen Skinner

"The Goetia" is the most famous grimoire after the Key of Solomon. This volume contains a transcription of a hitherto unpublished manuscript of the Lemegeton which includes four whole grimoires: "Liber Malorum Spituum seu Goetia"; "Theurgia-Goetia"; "Ars Paulina" (Books 1 & 2); and, "Ars Almadel". This was owned by Dr Thomas Rudd, a practising scholar-magician of the early seventeenth century. There are many editions of the "Goetia", of which the most definitive is that of Joseph Peterson, but here we are interested in how the "Goetia" was actually used by practising magicians in the 16th and 17th century, before the knowledge of practical magic faded into obscurity. To evoke the 72 demons listed here without the ability to bind them would be foolhardy indeed. It was well known in times past that invocatio and ligatio, or binding, was a key part of evocation, but in the modern editions of the "Goetia" this key technique is expressed in just one word 'Shemhamaphorash', and its use is not explained. This volume explains how the 72 angels of the Shem ha-Mephorash are used to bind the spirits, and the correct procedure for safely invoking them using special seals incorporating the necessary controlling angel, whose name is also engraved on the breastplate and Brass Vessel.

The Picatrix was a primary source for 'alchemic scholars' such as Michael Scot. The book had a major influence on later West European magical thinking from Marsilio Ficino in the 1400s, Cornelius Agrippa, Thomas Campanella, Dr John Dee and Paracelsus in addition to the anonymous authors of magical grammars such as the Key of Solomon. The edition in the British Library passed through several hands: Simon Forman, Richard Napier, Elias Ashmole and William Lilly. Presented in the original Arabic, the talismanic property of this work will be of interest to specialist collectors of seminal grimoires & Golden Dawn source works. Reproduced in the original authentic Arabic.

Gathering the Magic:
Creating 21st Century Esoteric Groups
By Nick Farrell

Many people on the spiritual path spend their lives looking for an esoteric order or school to join. If they find one they will inevitably find it a hotbed of intrigue and egos that eclipses any spiritual work. Despite this, author Nick Farrell believes that esoteric groups are the way forward in the Aquarian Age, provided there are fundamental changes in the way they run. The book applies the rules of group dynamics and conflict resolution to set up organizations that not only work but are fun to be involved in. The author calls on seekers to set up working esoteric groups of their own instead of waiting to find that perfect group, organization or teacher. As the title suggests, the book is written light-heartedly with plenty of humorous case studies of what happens when things go wrong. Gathering the Magic provides seekers with a window of what is happening within esoteric groups and the unique dynamics that take place when two or more gather to look at new age subjects. This book will prove invaluable to magicians, Wiccans and members of the New Age movement who wish to set up a group. It will also help those who more information about how esoteric groups work, and those who are members of organizations and want to know what is going on!

Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom
By Erynn Rowan Laurie

A breakthrough in ogam divination and magical studies. Rather than working from the commonly known tree alphabet paradigm, Erynn Rowan Laurie takes us back to the roots of each letter's name, exploring its meanings in the context of Gaelic language and culture. Like the Norse runes, each letter is associated with an object or a concept -- "sulfur", "a bar of metal", "terror". These letters are deeply enmeshed in a web of meaning both cultural and spiritual, lending power and weight to their symbolism. With two decades of experience with the ogam and over thirty years of working with divination, Erynn offers insights into the many profound meanings hidden in the ogam letters and their lore. She explains each letter in context and shows how to expand the system in new and innovative ways while acknowledging and maintaining respect for ogam's traditional language and culture. In this book, you will find ways to use the ogam for divination, ideas on incorporating ogam into ritual, discussions of how ogam relates to Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism, and instructions for creating your own set of ogam feda or letters for your personal use.

By Monte Beauchamp

A collection of vintage devil postcards from 1898 through the 1950s. This sequel to 2004's hugely popular The Devil in Design (featuring 18th and 19th century Krampus postcards) is a fascinating, full-color compendium of extremely rare devil postcards culled from key postcard collections from around the world and spanning approximately 1898 through the 1950s. Lavishly illustrated with over 150 striking and stylized full-page examples, the book is edited and designed by Monte Beauchamp, editor and designer of the popular graphic arts anthology, BLAB! American postcard manufacturers took note and jumped on the bandwagon, producing their own versions. These penny "dreadfuls" were used to promote a vast array of occasions and products—from festive holiday celebrations, such as Halloween and Christmas (in Europe), to popular household products such as furnaces, chili peppers, and insecticides. More than just modest mail pieces, devil postcards were often composed by skilled graphic designers, illustrators, and renowned artists. The Theatre of Magick
By Ray Sherwin

Ray Sherwin is perhaps the most conventional of the Chaos practitioners. Sherwin's books are written in a calm, analytical style, systematically exploring points of practical concern to the magician. You are not guided into using any fixed paradigms, you effectively use whatever works best for you, mixing and borrowing or inventing new techniques. This level of belief is not what meta-belief is concerned with. Rather, it concerns the level of belief that is attained by the method actor, sometimes referred to in the inverted sense as "suspension of disbelief." Practicing Chaos Magick involves the temporary adoption of an obsessive belief system that allows for the possibility of Magick to accomplish specific effects, and then the abandonment of that belief system upon the completion of the work. To do this it is of prime importance that no one particular set of beliefs is ever accepted as being ultimately true.

Papal Magic: Occult Practices Within the Catholic Church
By Simon

Throughout its 2,000 year history, the Church has spawned numerous mystical religious orders that may have been engaged in supernatural pursuits, while no fewer than three popes were believed to be involved in occult practices. Christian scriptures tell us that the occult is real, while Catholic priests are thought to have spiritual power over ghosts and evil entities. But if a priest can cast out demons during the rites of exorcism, does it not imply he has the ability to summon them as well? In this provocative work, occult scholar Simon examines the Church's unspoken relationship with forbidden magic by exploring the infamous 17 century document considered by some to be the most demonic of all occult texts- the Grimoire of Pope Honorius III, and illuminates the Vatican's darkest hidden corners.

Kaostar! Modern Chaos Cunning Craft
By Francis, H Breakspear

This book of practical 'Results Magick' sprang from a brief conversation about cunning folk, the European village sorcerers of old, and how they might do their work today. The underlying magic is not so different across the centuries; being based around the enduring human motivations of sex and love, power and pride, prejudice, envy, revenge, curses and health. Much of the content and methods given in this book are not so much immoral as completely amoral; the practitioner being left to their own devices and choices as to how they use it, rather than any overwrought and baleful prescription to only use it for “good” (whatever that is) taking no account of circumstance. Among many other things you will learn in this book how to change traffic lights to Green, how to use a cellphone and a compact disc to send a spell, a fabulous new source-method of making magic squares, and a great deal about cursing and healing methods.

Voudon Gnostic Workbook: Expanded Edition
By Michael Bertiaux

A long-awaited new edition of the seminal text on the spiritual system that is a convergence of Gnosticism and Haitian voodoo, The Voudon Gnostic Workbook is a singular sacred work that is comprehensive in scope--from "how to be a lucky Hoodoo" to how magick and voodoo intersect energetically, to esoteric time travel. Complete with charts and graphs and instructive interdimensional physics, The Voudon Gnostic Workbook is an "object of desire" among students of the occult.

Weiser's long-anticipated republication of this rare text will be an event in the annals of esoteric publishing, as the book itself is somewhat of an "unholy grail." There are listservers devoted to it and much discussion of the mysteries held within its pages. While The Voudon Gnostic Workbook has remained a controversial book considered important for masters of metaphysics, it recently came into popular culture and renewed popularity when Grant Morrison revealed it had been the inspiration for his cult comics The Invisibles, using the cribbed time travel from Bertiaux' s masterwork. Voodoo is not an evil religion and is much misunderstood. It derives from the Dahomean Gods called the "Loa." Esoteric voodoo is actually a highly practical procedure for leading us into making contact with the deepest levels of our being and most ancient modes of consciousness. Michael Bertiaux's Voudon Gnostic Workbook is the most comprehensive and illuminating contemporary book on the subject. Launched out of a correspondence course and series of classes for students and followers of Voudon Gnosticism and the OTO, this seminal text is at once one of the most mysterious and magnificent of all esoteric books.

Disciple's Guide to Ritual Magick
By Frater Barrabbas

In 'The Disciple's Guide to Ritual Magick', Frater Barrabbas uses occult symbology of the past two centuries, mindful of all the latest developments in Integral Psychology and Philosophy. This book can take a student far beyond the rudimentary magickal practices of the dilettante, and help them to develop a spiritual and magickal discipline that furthers spiritual transformation and conscious evolution. It contains the knowledge necessary for acquiring a competent background in the art of ritual magick, and also a grimoire of magickal rituals and exercises necessary to build a fully workable magickal discipline. The grimoire of seven rituals, written with an occult context, is the Grail Mythos of the Western Mystery Tradition. Although everyone probably knows the stories about the Quest for the Holy Grail, King Arthur, Merlin, and the Knights of the Round Table, there are powerful allegorical undercurrents and occult threads in these tales, that when realized, can become translated into life changing experiences for the magician. Frater Barrabbas has been working and teaching new forms of Magick for over 35 years, and assisted in starting a magickal lodge where this discipline was taught and practiced. The rituals in the grimoire are based on the rituals that were used by this order, whose lore is also modeled upon the Grail Mythos. This book provides a compelling and challenging first foundation for the practicing ritual magician that is necessary for the ultimate attainment of knowledge, fulfillment and wisdom through the revelation and gnosis of Magick.

Luciferian Goetia
By Michael Ford

Darkness is always found within first. Your entire life has been found in either an embrace of shadow or a carefully forgotten endless banishing of it. The Luciferian Path instructs the student to awaken darkness, to manifest demons from the abyss of the Subconscious and master them - the end result being self-mastery and the transformation into a Luciferic Spirit. The LUCIFERIAN GOETIA is a grimoire which presents the 72 Spirits of Solomon as daemonic forces within the mind itself, giving possibility to their anthropomorphic existence outside of humanity itself. The interpretation and experience is as unique as the Shemhamforasch itself. Herein is LEGION, the Book of Howling. Contains a different approach to the 72 Demons, Invocations and Evocations written by a Luciferian and a working methodology on summoning and controlling powerful forces.

Magia Sexualis:
Sex, Magic, and Liberation in Modern Western Esotericism
By Hugh Urban

Sexuality and the occult arts have long been associated in the western imagination, but it was not until the nineteenth century that a large and sophisticated body of literature on sexual magic--the use of sex as a source of magical power--emerged. This book, the first history of western sexual magic as a modern spiritual tradition, places these practices in the context of the larger discourse surrounding sexuality in American and European society over the last 150 years to discover how sexual magic was transformed from a terrifying medieval nightmare of heresy and social subversion into a modern ideal of personal empowerment and social liberation. Focusing on a series of key figures including American spiritualist Paschal Beverly Randolph, Aleister Crowley, Julius Evola, Gerald Gardner, and Anton LaVey, Hugh Urban traces the emergence of sexual magic out of older western esoteric traditions including Gnosticism and Kabbalah, which were progressively fused with recently-discovered eastern traditions such as Hindu and Buddhist Tantra. His study gives remarkable new insight into sexuality in the modern era, specifically on issues such as the politics of birth control, the classification of sexual "deviance," debates over homosexuality and feminism, and the role of sexuality in our own new world of post-modern spirituality, consumer capitalism, and the Internet.

Portable Darkness:
An Aleister Crowley Reader
By Dave Evans

The first book to tackle the formidable task of collecting the best of Crowley's voluminous lifework. While many of the details of Crowley's flamboyant life have been well documented, his position as the major intellectual figure on the occult has often been eclipsed by his own notoriety. Infamous for scandalizing society on both sides of the Atlantic, Crowley devoted his life to the study of Qabalah, gematria, numerology, astrology, myth, glyphs, yoga, and linguistics. His intense, methodical exploration of so immense and arcane a range of knowledge yielded a huge and challenging body of literature, an abstruse oeuvre. In bringing together Crowley's best writings, editor Scott Michaelsen makes Crowleyan philosophy both accessible and intelligible. Here are those works which best display and illuminate Crowley's razor-sharp insight and intellectual range. • Organized thematically by Crowley's favourite subjects, the power of language, yoga, sex, and Magick • Accompanied by Michaelsen's cogent essays • Features material not included in the original Random House edition

Dead Names:
The Dark History of the Necronomicon
By Simon

The most feared, fascinating, and dangerous book in the history of humankind... The Necronomicon. An ancient Arabic text -- a powerful book of spells that could, in the wrong hands, create unimaginable and irreversible devastation -- the Necronomicon featured prominently in the stories of legendary horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. For many generations, few believed it to be anything other than pure fiction. But in 1972, a young man who, for his own protection, must be known simply as "Simon," stumbled upon an old, handwritten manuscript that ultimately proved to be an authentic edition of the unholy work. Dead Names is the startling true account of the dark and violent history of this most fearsome of books: from its Middle Eastern origins to its reemergence centuries later; its role in pivotal events of the twentieth century, from the JFK assassination to the Son of Sam murders; and the terrible fates that befell those who helped bring the Necronomicon out of the shadows and into the light of day.

The Dark Arts of Immortality:
Transformation through War, Sex, & Magic
By Ross G. H. Shott

If you had the power within your reach to insure your own immortality, would you risk all to grasp it? Think about it. No longer would you plead for the mercy of others. No longer would you bow to invisible masters. No longer would you struggle for table scraps. You could become master of your own destiny. You become as God. Drawing on the findings of science, religion, sociology, psychology, philosophy, mythology, history, ancient texts, and metaphysics, The Dark Arts of Immortality: Transformation through War, Sex, & Magic explains how to harness and augment the energy of our innate drives. Through personal combat, sexual fantasy, and mystic rituals the death drive (mortido), sex drive (libido), and growth drive (physis) can provide doorways to supra-consciousness. These core altered states of being (fury, ecstasy, and exaltation) grant preternatural physical, mental, and spiritual abilities. The synthesis of these attributes will elevate personal power in this world and allow one to manifest a divine Being in the afterlife.

A Field Guide to Otherkin
By Lupa

The Otherkin community is a small but growing subculture of people who identify in some way--spiritually, metaphorically, etc.--as Other than human. Some resonate with dragons, while others believe they were elves in another life, and still others identify as wolves, great cats, and other animals. Of course, this all may seem a little odd to those who aren't Otherkin. What do Otherkin believe? Why do we believe these things? How does being Otherkin affect how we relate to the world around us--and ourselves? A Field Guide to Otherkin offers answers straight from over 100 survey respondents, collected by Lupa, herself a wolf therianthrope, and elaborated upon by her. A Field Guide to Otherkin is designed to inform both Otherkin and non-Otherkin about the community and the people and beliefs that create it. Rather than being a collection of statistics, it is a look into the lives of Otherkin, qualitative rather than quantitative.

Fang and Fur, Blood and Bone:
A Primal Guide to Animal Magic
By Lupa

The result of nearly a decade of intense study and practice by the author of animal magics of all sorts. This isn't your average book on the topic though. Lupa wanted to provide the working magician, regardless of background, with a guidebook to incorporating animal magic into their practice. This includes everyone from Chaos magicians to totemists to Wiccans, witches and pagans and so on. She wrote it primarily from the viewpoint of an experimental magician, so it tends to be quite straightforward and matter-of-fact. Not only does the book delve into the usual realms of totemism and familiars, creating animal-based entities and shapeshifting, but also the use of animal parts in magic and a (highly disclaimered) chapter on animal sacrifice. Look for other odds and ends like cryptozoology, pop culture influences, and therianthropy, among much mor. Fang and Fur, Blood and Bone: A Primal Guide to Animal Magic fills in the blanks in the realm of animal magic.

The Paradigmal Pirate:
Liber LLL and Liber Ventum
By Josh Wetzel

A grimoire of practical magical training with ritual work and exercises. The Paradigmal Pirate actually comprises two books in one. Liber LLL is an extrapolation of the basic magickal practices in the chaos magick metaparadigm. The book defines a solid compendium of ritual practice for the pragmatic, results-oriented magician. Liber Ventum is even more interesting when Wetzel steps out from the shadow of Pete Carroll's work and begins to create his own grimoire. The second section kicks off with an exploration of how to pirate ideas from other groups, getting into the groups, getting some useful techniques, and how to get out. The book ties up with the excellent suggestion about using children's games as the basic form for rituals, a look at open handed magick and a generous spattering of other techniques, such as: working magic through lucid dreaming; details the use of altered states of consciousness in magic; the construction of magical tools; the designing of rituals in the eight colors of magic and the occult metamorphosis of the self.

"Satanica Sexualis" is a comprehensive encyclopedia of that forbidden area where sex, black magic and the Devil meet in an unholy and lascivious fusion. Subjects covered include not only the history of sex and witchcraft, but also sex and Satan in cinema, literature, art and graphics. With its focus on the psycho-sexual deliria of witchcraft and satanism, and heavily illustrated throughout, "Satanica Sexualis" is a modern manual in the tradition of Krafft-Ebing, an essential reference tool for all those intrigued, inspired or enslaved by the meshing of sex and Satan!

Yoga for Magick
By Nancy Wasserman, James Wasserman

Yoga today connotes many images and ideas—from holy men on a high mountaintop to throngs of young women toting designer mats. Yoga, meaning "union," is actually a many-layered discipline designed to help an individual attain health, serenity, focus, and ultimately, union with the Divine. Aleister Crowley was one of the first Europeans to practice yoga and believed the practice was essential to spiritual growth, stating that "Magick is a Pyramid built layer by layer. The work of the Body of Light—with the technique of Yoga—is the foundation of the whole." This succinct and uniquely helpful book explores the frequently overlooked importance of bringing a healthy body and a clear-thinking mind to the practice of ceremonial magick or Wicca. While many books on magick discuss the importance of ritual, almost none point to the physical, spiritual, and moral quality necessary to make those rituals effective. Spiritual power demands physical health and the contemporary western practitioner can learn much from the ancient tradition of yoga.

Fallen Nation: Babylon Burning
By James Curcio

Fallen Nation: Babylon Burning is a psychedelic roadtrip across the highways of the modern collective unconscious. It's a world where just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you, where the things you dream about can come back to haunt you when you wake, and where the end of this world is just the beginning of another. "A progressive fictional universe created by a wickedly talented scribe... Philip K Dick might have company someday." Author James performs in industrial rock concerts, bitches incessantly on his blog, skulks about in dark recording studios, and writes dystopian graphic novels and novels for a generation of disenfranchised drug addicts.

Cthulhu Cult
By Venger Satanis

The Cult of Cthulhu shall never die. It's untenable spirit, unearthly and ichorous, is spreading far and wide through the Matrix-esque reality program that we are immersed in. As you read these words, try to wake up from the illusions surrounding you. This book is our manifesto, our truth, our bible! Cthulhu Cult is the integration of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, Satanism, Chaos Magic, the Fourth Way, and other Left Hand Path traditions. It is also the fruition of my special plan: to see this world's flaws, to understand why they exist, and then finally. to overcome them! Years ago, I knew that humanity was on the wrong track, and this horrid green tome corrects the mistake of man... before us rushes a new flood of reason. When the Old Ones return, this world shall drown before Their might.
